Jealousy cited in Mayweather incident

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Jealousy sparked a violent confrontation between boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and the mother of his son, a police report released Monday alleged.

A Las Vegas police report obtained by the Web site TMZ.com indicated Josie Harris, the mother of Mayweather's 10-year-old son Koraun, alleged the boxer threatened to kill the pair over allegations she was carrying on an affair with Chicago Bulls basketball player C.J. Watson.

The report said Harris alleged Mayweather confronted her at her home last week with accusations she was involved with Watson.

The report stated Mayweather screamed, "'Are you having sex with C.J.?' Harris replied, 'Yes, that is who I'm seeing now.'"

Young Koraun told police he "saw his dad was on his mother and was hitting and kicking her."

Harris was hospitalized with minor injuries and Mayweather was booked on felony grand larceny for allegedly taking Harris's cell phone, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The boxer was later released on bail.

The newspaper said police have requested that Mayweather be charged with misdemeanor domestic violence and the Clark County (Nev.) District Attorney's office is reviewing the case.
