"You don't know Ryan Reynolds," Meyers joked after a failed attempt to get Reynolds on the phone. "I swear!" Gyllenhaal replied.

The Deadpool star called back much to to the audiences delight when Meyers headed backstage to fix a microphone.

"Seth's not here because he didn't believe we were friends," Gyllenhaal said while sitting in Meyers' chair. "Here's what I'm doing: pushing baby strollers," Reynolds showed on FaceTime.

"I'm gonna get my lips done, so I'll see ya later," Reynolds continued as the pair ended their conversation.

"Apologies to Jake Gyllenhaal. You know Ryan Reynolds," Meyers later said.

Life which also stars Rebecca Ferguson, Olga Dihovichnaya, Ariyon Bakare, and Hiroyuki Sanada, is now in theaters.
