LONDON, May 27 (UPI) -- Health officials in Britain said they expect a surge of alcohol-related incidents during summer so they have set up a fleet of field hospitals.
Authorities said they expect more alcohol-related incidents as Britain celebrates the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Summer Olympics and European football championships and that the hospitals would be overwhelmed, therefore "booze buses," will be dispatched to deal with drunken revellers, the Daily Telegraph reported.
British officials said they were particularly concerned about the four-day Jubilee holiday weekend, which will be followed by England's three football matches at the Euro 2012 tournament, a few days later.
Officials at the London Ambulance service said customized ambulances are equipped to ferry five intoxicated people at a time and take them to special recovery tents set up for intoxicated people.
In other areas, special first-response vehicles with paramedics will treat people with injuries at the roadside, but hospitals are also beefing up medical personnel during the summer events.
