Forty-five percent said they will have about as much to be thankful for this year as they had a few years ago, which is slightly more than said so last year at 41 percent.

Eighteen percent say they will have less to be thankful for, up from 13 percent in 2010, while 5 percent were not sure this year, which equals last year.

When asked to compare their overall feelings for Thanksgiving to their feelings a few years ago, many Americans don't seem particularly grateful -- but they have a different take when asked about specific items:

-- 85 percent of Americans said they will feel thankful this Thanksgiving both for the health of their family and family relationships.

-- 74 percent said they will feel thankful because technology makes it easy to stay in touch with family and friends and two-thirds say they are thankful that good technology is easily accessible.
