Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Pokemon GO developer Niantic announced Wednesday a new augmented reality mobile game based on author J.K. Rowling's wizarding world of Harry Potter.
The game, titled Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, will use the augmented reality gaming platform seen in Pokemon GO that had players exploring real world locations and teaming up with others in order to progress further into the game.
"Players will learn spells, explore their real world neighborhoods and cities to discover & fight legendary beasts and team up with others to take down powerful enemies," Niantic said in a statement of what players can expect in Wizards Unite.
Niantic is developing the title alongside Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, and WB Games San Francisco.
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite currently has no release date, but the developers set up an official site for the game where fans can sign up to receive updates.
