German boy, 6, freed from furry handcuffs found in parents' room

HOESBACH, Germany, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- German police said "New Year's was saved" for a 6-year-old boy who became stuck in his parents' furry handcuffs.

Police said the boy was celebrating New Year's Eve with his family at their Hoesbach home in Bavaria when he discovered his parents' intimate-time toys in their bedroom and used the handcuffs to bind his own hands, TheLocal.de reported Thursday.

The boy soon found he could not get out of the handcuffs and his family members were unable to locate the key.

An Aschaffenburg-Hoesbach police representative said the boy's mother and grandmother brought him to the police station about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday and traffic officers were able to remove the furry cuffs using unspecified "special tools."

"New Year's was saved," the representative said.
