Feb. 20 (UPI) -- Succession and Big Little Lies alum Alexander Skarsgård's new sci-fi comedic thriller, Murderbot, is set to premiere on Apple TV+ May 16.
Skarsgård plays the title character, a robot who "must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe," the streaming service said in a press release Thursday.
The cast also includes Noma Dumezweni, David Dastmalchian, Sabrina Wu, Akshay Khanna, Tattiawna Jones and Tamara Podemski.
Created by Chris and Paul Weitz (American Pie, About a Boy), the 10-episode show is based on Martha Wells' book series, The Murderbot Diaries.
