'Yellowstone' begins production on Season 5

May 16 (UPI) -- Production on Season 5 of drama Yellowstone has started in Montana, Paramount Network announced on Monday.

Season 5 will consist of 14 episodes, which will be split into two parts that are seven episodes each.

Stars Jen Landon and Kathryn Kelly have been upgraded to series regulars for Season 5.

Yellowstone follows Kevin Costner as John Dutton, who owns and fights to maintain the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the U.S.

Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, Forrie Smith, Denim Richards, Ian Bohen, Finn Little, Ryan Bingham and Gil Birmingham also star.

"Yellowstone's record-breaking performance proves we've tapped a cultural nerve and unleashed a passionate audience from the center of the country to each of the coasts. Kevin Costner leads our incredible cast who make the Duttons America's favorite family, and this new season is sure to to be another one fans won't want to miss," ViacomCBS Media Networks CEO Chris McCarthy said in a statement.

Yellowstone Season 4 aired on Paramount Network starting in November. The fourth season then came to Peacock in March.

Costner will narrate Yellowstone: One-Fifty, a new docuseries that will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Yellowstone National Park for streaming service Fox Nation.
