WWE Raw: Roman Reigns' Bloodline collides with Big E's New Day

Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Universal Champion Roman Reigns and his cousins, SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos, made a trip over to the red brand to face newly crowned WWE Champion Big E and his buddies, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day, on Raw.

The epic confrontation featuring both of WWE's most dominant factions kicked off Raw on Monday after Big E briefly spoke out about becoming WWE Champion.

Big E had successfully cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Bobby Lashley last week to capture the title.

"I am beyond grateful for all of you who lost your minds when I became your new WWE Champion. I'm grateful for all of you below the heavens and one incredible friend above," Big E said in reference to late professional wrestler Brodie Lee.

Reigns, Jimmy and Jey Uso then arrived onto the scene with The Head of the Table's special counsel, Paul Heyman. Reigns held up his Universal Championship to Big E who held up the WWE Championship right back.

The crowd erupted when Big E finally got to battle Reigns during the highly-competitive three-on-three bout. The grapplers talked trash before starting to punch each other. Big E was in control and was able to throw Reigns around the ring.

Woods was tagged in and Big E launched Kingston into the Usos. Woods then landed an impressive Super Kick on Reigns as Lashley entered the fray and attacked both teams.

Woods was distracted by the assault happening outside the ring. Reigns took advantage and nailed Woods with a Spear to win the match. Lashley entered the ring and attacked Reigns with a Spear.

The incident led to a main event match featuring Big E, Reigns and Lashley.

The Tribal Chief started things off by letting Big E and Lashley attack each other before getting involved. Big E was later able to land a double Running Splash on both men and was able to avoid Lashley's devastating Hurt Lock submission hold, due to Reigns landing the Superman Punch on The All Mighty.

Big E was in control and performed the Big Ending on Reigns before Lashley spoiled his near-certain victory by using a steel chair. The weapon is legal in a Triple Threat match and was used by Lashley to beat down the WWE Champion.

Reigns was able to Spear Lashley after the attack and won his second match of the night as Raw went off the air.

Other moments from Raw included Doudrop defeating Eva Marie; Raw Tag Team Champion Randy Orton defeating AJ Styles after Styles' partner Omos was ejected from ringside; Shayna Baszler defeating her former tag team partner Nia Jax before Baszler brutally stomped on Jax's arm afterwards; Cousins Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo forming a new tag team to defeat Mustafa Ali and Mansoor; Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley defeating Natalya and Tamina to become the new Women's Tag Team Champions; and Charlotte Flair getting into a war of words with Alexa Bliss on Bliss' talk show, Alexa's Playground.
