AEW Dynamite: Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole make AEW TV debut

Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Bryan Danielson and Adam Cole made their Dynamite debuts after shocking the professional wrestling world by joining AEW.

Danielson, formerly known as Daniel Bryan in WWE, had appeared at the All Out pay-per-view event on Sunday by confronting The Elite, a group that Cole had rejoined moments before. Cole is best known for his time in WWE NXT.

The Elite, consisting of AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks and Impact World Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers, loudly introduced Cole on Wednesday as he made his way down to the ring.

Cole started things off by threatening announcer Tony Schiavone who is friends with Cole's girlfriend, AEW Women's World Champion Dr. Britt Baker. Cole then hyped up The Elite as the greatest faction in professional wrestling and confirmed that his first AEW match will take place next week on Dynamite.

Danielson eventually interrupted the group, causing Omega to ask the others to leave the ring. The American Dragon grabbed the microphone away from Omega and asked the audience if they wanted to see Danielson vs. Omega.

"I think you're afraid to take this match because you know that I'm better than you, that I will kick your head in, and that you are not on my level," Danielson said.

Omega went on the attack with Danielson able to immediately apply The Yes Lock, causing the champ to tap out. The rest of The Elite rushed inside to attack Danielson, who received help from Christian Cage, Jurassic Express and Frankie Kazarian. Danielson last took out Elite cameraman Brandon Cutler with the Running Knee.

Ruby Soho, formerly known as Ruby Riott in WWE, made in-ring debut on Dynamite after also appearing at All Out. Soho had won the Casino Battle Royale to become the No. 1 contender for Baker's title on Sunday.

Soho was in action against Baker's body guard Jamie Hayter. Baker was ringside for the match along with her assistant Rebel.

Soho nailed Hayter with a DDT and later kicked her opponent right in the face to earn the victory. Baker, Hayter and Rebel then assaulted Soho before the punk rocker received help from Kris Statlander and Riho.

Jon Moxley battled professional wrestling legend Minoru Suzuki of New Japan Pro Wrestling fame in the main event. Moxley was competing in front of his hometown of Cincinnati, who gave him a heroes welcome.

The fists were flying in the highly-competitive match, which saw Suzuki start to bleed from his eye after Moxley delivered the Paradigm Shift.

Suzuki seemed to thrive off of the pain and continued to fight until Moxley connected with more punches and a second Paradigm Shift to win the match. Moxley celebrated with fans as Dynamite went off the air.

Other moments from Dynamite included Malakai Black defeating Dustin Rhodes and causing him to bleed from the mouth; CM Punk starting a rivalry with Team Taz; Powerhouse Hobbs of Team Taz defeating Dante Martin; MJF disrespecting late grappler Brian Pillman of Cincinnati before being confronted by his son Brian Pillman, Jr.; and FTR and Shawn Spears of The Pinnacle defeating The Dark Order who continue to not get along.
