Aug. 20 (UPI) -- Paramount Network has finally announced the exact date when Yellowstone, its contemporary western starring Kevin Costner, will return with fresh episodes.

"This is not a drill! #YellowstoneTV season 4 premieres November 7, 2021," the show's Twitter feed said Thursday.

Season 3 ended last summer with three of the show's main characters -- John (Costner,) Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Kayce (Luke Grimes) -- in grave danger.

The show follows the wealthy Dutton family, who owns an enormous cattle ranch that shares borders with a national park, Native reservations and upscale housing/resorts.

1883 -- a Yellowstone prequel starring Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Sam Elliott -- is set to debut on Paramount+ streaming service Dec. 19.

"Our strategy is to make Yellowstone, the massive No. 1 hit with more than 10 million fans, into a global hit franchise under the incredible creative vision of Taylor Sheridan's world building storytelling," Chris McCarthy -- president and CEO of MTV Entertainment -- said in a statement Thursday.
