WWE 'NXT': Samoa Joe, Karrion Kross battle through arena

Aug. 18 (UPI) -- Samoa Joe and NXT Champion Karrion Kross had a massive brawl throughout the Capitol Wrestling Center on WWE NXT.

The fight happened on Wednesday before Joe and Kross collide for the NXT Championship Sunday at NXT TakeOver 36. WWE will also be presenting SummerSlam on Saturday.

Joe initially called out Kross and said he was not looking to hurt the champ's feelings tonight but rather his body. Kross confidently arrived onto the scene and said their upcoming title match is a battle for NXT's future.

Kross also called in the NXT security team, saying it was protection for Joe. The Samoan Submission machine wasted no time once Kross entered the ring and started fighting with his rival.

Joe threw Kross out of the ring and dived to take out Kross and the security team. Joe then head butted, punched and threw Kross into the ringside barricade before more security arrived.

Joe threw Kross into a ringside barricade, breaking it in the process. Kross would then get his revenge by tackling Joe through another ringside barricade that broke, which took out both men as NXT went off the air.

Also on WWE NXT, Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis teamed up to face Robert Stone and Jessi Kamea one week after their first date.

The two lovebirds worked well together as a team and won the match after Kamea got distracted by Lumis outside the ring. Hartwell, with a look of jealousy, threw Kamea back into the ring and applied The Silence submission hold in order to earn the victory.

Lumis had also used The Silence outside the ring on Stone.

Hartwell then approached announcer Beth Phoenix who handed the grappler a ring. Hartwell re-entered the ring and got down on one knee to propose to Lumis.

The mysterious Lumis remained silent and shook his head yes as Hartwell placed a ring with an eye in the middle on his finger.

The couple shared a kiss and a hug inside the ring before posing for a crowd of cheering fans.

NXT Women's Champion Raquel Gonzalez and her former best friend and tag team partner Dakota Kai had a final sit-down interview before their title bout at NXT TakeOver 36. The grapplers were separated from each other and placed into separate rooms for the interview.

Gonzalez said she was not surprised when Kai betrayed her and said she has been dominating the NXT Women's division since becoming champion.

Kai called Gonzalez delusional and promised victory at NXT TakeOver 36.

Other moments from WWE NXT included Ilja Dragunov defeating Roderick Strong; Cameron Grimes defeating Josh Briggs before he and The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase were attacked by LA Knight; Carmelo Hayes defeating Odyssey Jones; and MSK successfully defended their Tag Team Championships against Imperium.
