June 15 (UPI) -- Manifest won't return for Season 4.

TVLine reported Monday that NBC has canceled the supernatural drama series after three seasons.

Manifest is created by Jeff Rake and starred Melissa Roxburgh, Josh Dallas, Athena Karkanis, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise and Jack Messina. The series followed the crew and passengers of a missing plane who suddenly reappear after five years.

Season 3 ended with a cliffhanger finale last week.

Deadline confirmed Manifest's cancellation. Sources said the decision happened Monday evening, just hours before the options on the cast were to expire Tuesday.

Rake had a six-season plan for Manifest. He said Monday on Twitter that he hopes to find a new home for the series.

"My dear Manifesters, I'm devastated by NBC's decision to cancel us. That we've been shut down in the middle is a gut punch to say the least. Hoping to find a new home. You the fans deserve an ending to your story. Thanks for the love shown to me, cast, and crew. #save manifest," Rake tweeted.
