'The Witcher': Netflix shares Season 2 teaser with Ciri, announces WitcherCon

June 11 (UPI) -- Netflix is giving a glimpse of The Witcher Season 2.

The streaming service shared a teaser for the season Friday featuring Freya Allan as Ciri, the princess of Cintra.

The preview shows Ciri (Allan) seek her destiny and face danger as she continues her journey with Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill), a monster hunter known as a Witcher.

"Destiny awaits the Lion Cub of Cintra in Season 2..." Netflix tweeted on the Witcher official Twitter account.

Netflix released the teaser as part of Netflix Geeked Week, a virtual event featuring news, trailers, live art and more for The Witcher, Cowboy Bebop, The Sandman and other projects.

On Friday during Geeked Week, Netflix also announced WitcherCon, a virtual event celebrating the Witcher franchise that will take place July 9. The event is a collaboration between Netflix and CD Projekt Red, the company that developed the Witcher video games.

The Witcher series and the video games are based on the Andrezej Sapkowski book series.

WitcherCon will explore the video games, Netflix series and upcoming animated film. The event will feature panels with the Netflix and CD Projekt Red teams and news about the Netflix series.

WitcherCon will stream on the Netflix and CD Projekt Red YouTube and Twitch channels.

The Witcher TV series is created by Lauren Schmidt Hissrich. The show co-stars Eamon Farren, Joey Batey, Anna Shaffer and Mahesh Jadu.
