'I May Destroy You' nabs two BAFTA TV Awards

June 7 (UPI) -- I May Destroy You was named Best Miniseries and its star, Michaela Coel, was voted Best Lead Actress at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts TV Awards ceremony in London.

Paul Mescal also took home the prize Sunday for Best Lead Actor for Normal People; Malachi Kirby scored the award for Best Supporting Actor in Small Axe; and Rakie Ayola earned the prize for Best Supporting Actress for Anthony.

Save Me Too was voted Best Drama Series and The Big Narstie Show won the Best Comedy Entertainment Program title.

The BAFTA for Best Entertainment Program went to Life & Rhymes; the Best Entertainment Program prize was presented to Life & Rhymes; and Inside No. 9 won the trophy for Best Scripted Comedy.

Aimee Lou Wood earned the accolade for Best Female Performance in a Comedy Program for Sex Education; the Best Male Performance in a Comedy Program statuette went to Charlie Cooper for This Country; and Romesh Ranganathan received the award for Best Entertainment Performance for The Ranganation.

Casualty won the BAFTA for Best Soap & Continuing Drama.
