June 4 (UPI) -- Primary Colors and Staged actor Adrian Lester is set to co-star with Vicky McClure in the six-part thriller, Trigger Point, ITV announced.
The show is about counter-terrorism policing and the work done by the Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad. It was penned by screenwriting newcomer Daniel Brierley and produced by Jed Mercurio's HTM Television.
"I'm really looking forward to partnering with Vicky on this great new series. Jed Mercurio's material is always great. This series is ambitious and challenging, which is why it's exciting to be a part of the team," Lester said in a statement Thursday.
On Friday, it was announced that Lester will make his Broadway debut this September in The Lehman Trilogy.
American Beauty Oscar winner and The Ferryman Tony winner Sam Mendes is directing the play, which will co-star Simon Russell Beale and Adam Godley.
"It couldn't be more perfect that Adrian Lester will be joining our production of The Lehman Trilogy on Broadway," Mendes said in a press release.
"He was the first person I offered the role to, way back when we first mounted the production in London at the National Theatre, so on some level it feels like destiny. His joining the company at this moment in time offers the perfect opportunity to reflect on the Lehman family history. Directing Adrian as Bobby in Stephen Sondheim's Company 25 years ago was one of the true highlights of my career, and now I'm utterly delighted to be able to continue that relationship with this, his Broadway debut."
The play was written by Stefano Massini and adapted by Ben Power.
