"Shonda Rhimes will write the series and serve as executive producer alongside Betsy Beers and Tom Verica. An official title and more details will be revealed at a later time."

Bridgerton is an early 19th century British romance series based on Julia Quinn's novels.

Golda Rosheuvel plays Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III (James Fleet) on the show, which has been renewed through its fourth season.

Season 1 debuted late last year.

The cast also includes Ruth Gemmell as Violet and Adjoa Andoh as Lady Danbury.
