The preview shows Joanna (Dewan) question modern-day love and dance in different scenes.

"Whatever happened to passing someone on the street?" she asks. "Feeling that... thing. The hairs on the back of your neck, adrenaline rush."

Callie Hernandez and Jahmil French also star as Nellie O'Brien and Dante Mendoza, two aspiring performers who fall in love in Los Angeles.

"I don't believe in perfect," Dante (French) says. "I want mess and complications, and you only get that with the good and bad."

Soundtrack is created by Josh Safran, the creator of Quantico and a former executive producer on Gossip Girl and Smash. The series co-stars Christina Milian, Madeleine Stowe, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Campbell Scott and Paul James, and premieres Dec. 18.

Netflix promoted the show in a tweet Tuesday.

"@ChristinaMilian @jennadewan Madeleine Stowe, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Campbell Scott, Paul James & Callie Hernandez star in #Soundtrack -- a musical romance series that looks at the love stories connecting a diverse group of people in Los Angeles," the post reads.
