Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Constance Wu said on The Tonight Show that her upcoming film Hustlers explores the lives of real women who are strippers.

"One of the things I love about Hustlers is it takes an occupation that other people often make judgments about and it explores the real people behind it and their stories," the actress said to host Jimmy Fallon on Thursday.

Hustlers, which is set to arrive in theaters Sept. 13, also stars Jennifer Lopez, Lili Reinhart, Keke Palmer, Cardi B, Julia Stiles and Lizzo. The film is based on a true story about a group of strippers who team up to scam their Wall Street clients.

Wu introduced the woman her Hustlers character is based on who was sitting in the audience. "She's the real hustler," she said.

Wu mentioned how Cardi B, who was formerly a stripper, taught her how to perform a lap dance.

"So she's like 'All right, show me what you got' and then I do and I don't got it," Wu said about lap dancing in front of the rapper. "She teaches me how to get it and she knows how to get it."

Wu also discussed how she used to be a waitress before becoming an actress and mentioned some of the famous people she served including Bill Murray.

Wu said that Murray had her give other customers tap water from a pitcher. "He told me to take it around the restaurant to anyone who had tap water and say 'This is from Bill,'" she said.
