'Behind Her Eyes': Simona Brown, Tom Bateman to star in Netflix adaptation

Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Simona Brown and Tom Bateman will star in a Netflix adaptation of the novel Behind Her Eyes.

Deadline confirmed Thursday the 26-year-old actress and 30-year-old actor have joined the cast of the new series, which is based on the Sarah Pinborough book.

Eve Hewson (The Knick) and Robert Aramayo (Game of Thrones) will also star in the psychological thriller. The series is created for TV and written by Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal), with Erik Richter Strand to direct all six episodes.

Behind Her Eyes follows Louise, a single mother and secretary who meets and kisses David, a successful young man who turns out to be her new boss. She also befriends Adele, who she learns is David's wife. Louise becomes obsessed with the couple, who may be hiding terrible secrets.

Brown will play Louise, with Bateman as David and Hewson as Adele.

Behind Her Eyes is in principal photography and will film in Scotland and London. The series is produced by Left Bank (The Crown), with Lightfoot, Burdett, Andy Harries and Suzanne Mackie as executive producers.

United Agents said in a tweet Thursday that Lizzy McInnerny (The Crown) will also star in the show.

"Thrilled to announce that Tom Bateman and Lizzy McInnerny are set to star in @Netflix's new thrilled #BehindHerEyes, based on Sarah Pinborough's best-selling novel, with costume design by @MPriceCostume," the post reads.

Brown's previous TV roles include Gaia on The Casual Vacancy, Grace on The Night Manager and Rachel on The Little Drummer Girl. Bateman portrayed Giuliano de' Medici on Da Vinci's Demons.
