July 27 (UPI) -- The first trailer for Season 2 of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan was released online Saturday.
The preview showed John Krasinski as the titular CIA officer as he heads to South America to investigate after tracking a potentially suspicious shipment of illegal arms in the Venezuelan jungle, a synopsis said.
"As Jack's investigation threatens to uncover a far-reaching conspiracy, the President of Venezuela launches a counter-attack that hits home for Jack, leading him and his fellow operatives on a global mission spanning the United States, United Kingdom, Russia, and Venezuela to unravel the president's nefarious plot and bring stability to a country on the brink of chaos."
The espionage thriller co-stars Abbie Cornish, Wendell Pierce, Noomi Rapace and Michael Kelly.
The streaming service announced in February that it had renewed the series for a third season.
Jack Ryan is a beloved character from Clancy's series of best-solving novels. He was previously played on the screen by Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine.
