AEW is founded by president and CEO Tony Khan and boasts a roster that is headlined by members of The Elite. The group contains some of the most popular independent wrestlers in the industry including Cody Rhodes, his wife Brandi Rhodes, Kenny Omega, tag team The Young Bucks and Hangman Adam Page.

Cody, Omega and The Young Bucks -- which consist of Matt and Nick Jackson -- also serve as executive vice presidents of AEW with Brandi serving as Chief Brand Officer. Cody is the son of the legendary Dusty Rhodes.

Cody posted on Twitter a selfie he took with Brandi and members of The Elite with the caption "AEW on TNT."

Chris Jericho, a former WWE star and multi-time champion, is also a part of the AEW roster along with PAC, formerly known as Neville in WWE, among others.

AEW will be broadcasting live on pay-per-view an inaugural event titled Double or Nothing on May 25 at 8 p.m. ET. The event will also be available for streaming on WarnerMedia's B/R Live, or Bleacher Report Live, service.

Double or Nothing will feature matches such as Jericho vs. Omega, Cody vs. his brother Dustin who was formally known as Goldust in WWE, Page vs. PAC and The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Bros.

AEW has promised to offer less scripted, dramatic moments and focus more on in-ring athleticism. The company also has plans to introduce sports analytics to professional wrestling and will track each competitor's wins and losses.

"Wrestling fans have wanted - and needed - something different, authentic and better for far too long," Khan said in a statement. "AEW is answering that call. AEW is about more than wrestling. It's about a movement fueled by wrestling fans who have been underserved and perhaps even disappointed by what the industry has produced in recent years."

"AEW is rising to the occasion with Double or Nothing and today taking it a step further by partnering with WarnerMedia, which is as committed as we are to making wrestling fans the one and only priority. With WarnerMedia, AEW is poised to globally redefine wrestling as we know it today," he continued.

TNT previously aired World Championship Wrestling's weekly Monday Nitro program which famously went head-to-head with WWE's Monday Night Raw throughout the 1990s. WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon eventually bought out WCW in 2001, ending professional wrestling programming on TNT.
