'The Good Place,' 'Killing Eve' among 2019 Peabody Award winners

April 19 (UPI) -- The Peabody Board of Jurors announced the nine entertainment winners and one children's winner which will be honored at the 78th annual Peabody Awards.

The Entertainment winners include television shows The Good Place, Killing Eve, Barry, The Americans, Patriot Act with Hassan Minhaj, Random Acts of Flyness, Pose and The End of the F***ing World along with one comedy special, Hannah Gadsby: Nanette. Steven Universe won in the Children's category.

NBC's The Good Place follows an ensemble cast that includes Kristin Bell as they navigate the afterlife and what they believe to be heaven. BBC's Killing Eve, a spy drama, stars Sandra Oh and is based on the Codename Villanelle novella series by Luke Jennings. HBO's Barry stars Bill Hader as a hitman who tries to become an actor. FX's The Americans starred Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as Russian spys who pose as an American couple during the Cold War.

Netflix's Patriot Act features Minhaj, a former star on The Daily Show, discussing politics and culture. HBO's Random Acts of Flyness from Terence Nance, features a mix of documentaries, music and animation. FX's Pose, a musical drama from Ryan Murphy, stars an ensemble cast and takes place in 1980s New York. Channel 4 and Netflix's The End of the F***ing World is based on a graphic novel by Charles Forsman and stars Alex Lawther and Jessica Barden.

Netflix's Hannah Gadsby: Nanette features the comedian reflecting on gender, sexuality and her story of being sexually abused. Cartoon Network's Steven Universe follows a team of warriors who protect the galaxy.

"Congratulations to all the good humans who breath life (and death) into this show every day. You all deserve a "best person" sash. But I guess you'll have to settle for a motherforking Peabody," Bell said on Twitter Thursday.

A Peabody Awards ceremony will be held on May 18 at Cipriani Wall Street with Ronan Farrow serving as host.

Sesame Street will be honored with the Institutional Award for 50 years of educating and entertaining children around the world. Actress Rita Moreno is set to receive the Peabody Career Achievement Award.
