Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Hulu is giving the green light to two new series starring Abigail Spencer and Elle Fanning.
The streaming company announced at the Television Critics Association winter press tour Monday that it picked up Reprisal, a revenge drama with Spencer in the lead role.
Variety said Reprisal will debut sometime this year. The show follows a relentless femme fatale (Spencer) as she seeks revenge on a gang of gear heads after being left for dead.
Reprisal co-stars Rodrigo Santoro, Mena Massoud, Madison Davenport, Rhys Wakefield, David Dastmalchian, W. Earl Brown and Gilbert Owuor. StartUp producer Josh Corbin created, wrote and will executive produce the show.
"It's official! Love love love 'Reprisal.' More soon. Love this team & thrilled to be thriller-ing with @hulu & @AENetworks," Spencer tweeted Monday.
The Great will feature Fanning in the role of Catherine the Great, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The series is described as a genre-bending, anti-historical telling of the Russian empress' rise to power.
Nicholas Hoult, Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge and Sacha Dhawan co-star in The Great. The Favourite writer Tony McNamara created, wrote and will executive produce the show.
Reprisal and The Great join a number of upcoming projects a Hulu, including Mindy Kaling's remake of Four Weddings and a Funeral, a Veronica Mars revival, and an adaptation of Little Fires Everywhere starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington.
Spencer is known for playing Lucy Preston on the NBC series Timeless, which concluded with two-part finale in December. Fanning stars in the new movie Teen Spirit, which opens in theaters April 5.
