'Sherlock' scribe Mark Gatiss pens Christmas ghost story for BBC

Dec. 22 (UPI) -- The Dead Room -- a Christmas ghost story starring Simon Callow, Anjli Mohindra, Susan Penhaligon and Joshua Oakes-Rogers -- will premiere on BBC Four Monday.

The 30-minute drama was written and directed by Sherlock's Mark Gatiss. It follows a veteran radio star who discovers all is not quiet at his studio, a news release said.

"The Christmas ghost atory is a wonderful and vital TV tradition and one which has found its natural place on BBC Four. A Merry Christmas to all of you at home. Pleasant dreams!" Gatiss said in a statement.
