'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' stars celebrate show's renewal

Dec. 19 (UPI) -- The stars of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina are celebrating the show's renewal.

Kiernan Shipka, who plays Sabrina Spellman, and the cast and crew had a pajama party Tuesday after Netflix picked up the series through Season 4.

Executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared a photo on Twitter of Shipka, Ross Lynch and Jaz Sinclair smiling and wearing printed onesies.

"Pajama party at #CAOS today celebrating our renewal! Thank you to all the fans. Your passion and enthusiasm gives us life #sabrinanetflix," he captioned the post.

Shipka posted a picture on her own account of herself, Lynch and Gavin Leatherwood gathered around Lynch's phone.

"Renewal feels!!!" she wrote, adding heart-eyes and black heart emojis.

Variety said Netflix ordered another 16 episodes of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, with the episodes to be split into two parts. Production on the new episodes will begin in 2019.

Netflix initially ordered 20 episodes of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Part 1 debuted Oct. 26 and was followed by a holiday special, "A Midwinter's Tale," on Dec. 14. Part 2 will premiere April 5, 2019.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is based on the Archie Horror comic series of the same name. The show also stars Lucy Davis, Mirando Otto, Chance Perdomo and Michelle Gomez.
