Dec. 14 (UPI) -- The MTV docu-series Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club is set to debut Jan. 8. A 2-minute trailer released Thursday shows the Mean Girls and Freaky Friday actress trying to reinvent herself by running a luxurious resort.
"Lohan returns to the spotlight as a powerhouse entrepreneur with the launch of her new club, Lohan Beach House in Mykonos, Greece," a press release said. "Lindsay Lohan's Beach Club features Lohan's creative partner and trusted right-hand man, Panos Spentzos, who helps lead her handpicked team of nightlife industry professionals."
Lohan, 32, battled substance abuse and legal issues that derailed her once-bright career for years.
The actress made a rare red carpet appearance last month at the MTV European Music Awards in Bilbao, Spain.
She starred in the Sky One series Sick Note this year following a four-year hiatus from television. Tyra Banks confirmed in September that Lohan will appear in the Life-Size TV movie sequel.
Lohan's last big-screen appearance was in 2013's The Canyons.
