Megan Mullally to host the SAG Awards

Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Will & Grace scene-stealer Megan Mullally is to host the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony in Los Angeles on Jan. 27.

The actress' husband, Parks & Recreation alum Nick Offerman, announced the news in a brief video on Twitter Wednesday.

"I'm over the moon to be a part of the SAG Awards 25th Anniversary," Mullally said in a statement.

The gala honoring outstanding film and television performances is to be simulcast live on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Nominations for the prizes were announced Wednesday.

Alan Alda is to receive the guild's 2018 Life Achievement Award during the event.
