Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Comedy Central canceled Detroiters after two seasons, cast member Sam Richardson tweeted Tuesday.

"Sadly, @Detroiters won't be picked up for a season 3 at Comedy Central. I want to thank everyone who watched and supported the show. It was a dream to make and I'm proud that those who did see it enjoyed it. Maybe it will find a home elsewhere, who knows? But truly, thank you," the actor wrote.

Richardson co-starred and created the series with Tim Robinson. It is about best friends and marketing executives trying to promote their home city. Jason Sudeikis and Lorne Michaels served as executive producers.

Richardson is also part of the Veep ensemble and will be seen in the new YouTube comedy Champaign, ILL, starting Wednesday.
