"Jack & I have sadly decided to part ways," the star wrote. "It's been an incredible 6 months, and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but sadly we've come to the realisation that it's not meant to be long term."

"We both plan to stay friends. I hope you'll all understand. Love Dani x," she added.

News of the split came as a surprise to many fans, who expressed their confusion in comments on Dyer's posts. Dyer had shared a cozy photo with Fincham in bed last week.

"Feeling Christmassy," she wrote, adding heart and Christmas tree emojis.

The Independent said Dyer and Fincham moved in together following the Love Island finale in July. The pair have a dog together and were slated to star on a new ITVBe series about their relationship.

Sources told The Sun Dyer and Fincham's busy schedules and the demands of public life contributed to the split.

"When they left the villa they really thought they would stay together forever, but reality soon set in and things started to get strained," an insider said.

Love Island is a British dating show airing on ITV2. The series was renewed for a fifth season in July.
