WWE Raw: Survivor Series captains chosen

By Wade Sheridan

Nov. 6 (UPI) -- Acting general manager Baron Corbin started to form his Survivor Series teams on Raw which will face off against Smackdown on Nov. 18.

Survivor Series is WWE's annual November event where Raw and Smackdown collide in a series of matches for brand supremacy.

Corbin named himself team captain of the Raw men's Survivor Series team and selected Dolph Ziggler, Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman to represent the red brand. The Lone Wolf then announced that Alexa Bliss would be the team captain of the women's team.

Corbin and Bliss were interrupted by Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, who is still on a vacation from his general manager duties as decided by Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon. Angle declared that he should be a team captain as he helped lead Raw to victory at last year's Survivor Series.

Corbin denied Angle's request but agreed to face the Olympic Hero in a match to determine who will be a team captain. Strowman then arrived onto the scene and quickly ripped through Corbin's security detail he had set up outside the ring. Strowman then chased the acting general manager to the backstage area.

The Monster Among Men is furious at Corbin for attacking him during his championship match against Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel on Friday. Corbin's interference helped Lesnar claim the Universal Championship.

Angle would later be scheduled to face McIntyre instead in the main event for a chance at being team captain after Strowman chased Corbin out of the arena. McIntyre tortured Angle during the match, choosing to continue the bout after The Scottish Psychopath landed his finishing maneuver, The Claymore.

Angle never gave up, however, and was able to trap McIntyre into an Ankle Lock. McIntyre escaped the submission hold and then applied the same move onto Angle who tapped out.

Also on Raw, Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins was forced by Corbin to defend his Raw Tag Team Championships against AOP.

Rollins recently became a Raw Tag Team Champion alongside his former friend Dean Ambrose who has since attacked and betrayed Rollins.

Rollins, not having a partner, was unable to defeat AOP who became the new Raw Tag Team Champions. Ambrose arrived to the ring afterwards to met with Rollins, and appeared ready to explain why he threw their friendship away. As Ambrose stared to speak on the microphone, The Lunatic Fringe nailed Rollins with a Dirty Deeds before leaving.
