Nov. 2 (UPI) -- Jimmy Kimmel has returned with his 8th annual, I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy prank, releasing a video that highlights how kids reacted to their candy being gone.

The prank involves parents lying to their children about how they ate all of the Halloween candy. The video series captures the emotional turmoil the kids go through as some get angry, scream or cry.

The video compilation was put together after Kimmel received over 1,000 submissions.

"I'm so disappointed at you," one girl said after gasping. Another child knocked his father's work hat off after hearing the news.

Other children were more forgiving of their parents, with some aware that it was a prank devised by Kimmel.

"I'm not mad at all. I would never be mad at you because you're my mom," a young boy said.

"Oh no this is fake, I know this," another boy said.

The video also advertised donating leftover candy to service men and woman through nonprofit organization Operation Gratitude.
