WWE Raw: Brock Lesnar attacks Braun Strowman

By Wade Sheridan

Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman met face-to-face on Raw before the two competitors face off for the vacant Universal Championship Friday at Crown Jewel.

Lesnar kicked off Raw on Monday, alongside his advocate Paul Heyman who promised that his client would once again hold the red brand's top prize. Acting general manager Baron Corbin was also present, holding the Universal Championship in his hands.

Strowman then arrived onto the scene and threatened Lesnar. As The Monster Among Men and The Beast stared each other down, Corbin attempted to separate the two men before Strowman began attacking him.

Strowman delivered three consecutive Running Powerslams to Corbin as Lesnar enjoyed the show of power from the corner. Lesnar stalked Strowman as he finished his attack before delivering a thunderous F-5.

Lesnar and Strowman are competing for the Universal Championship after Roman Reigns relinquished the title last week. Reigns is taking a leave of absence from WWE in order to battle leukemia.

Also on Raw, Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins attempted to confront his former Shield brother Dean Ambrose who betrayed and attacked him last week after the duo had won the Raw Tag Team Championships together.

Rollins aired out his frustrations before Ambrose arrived near the live audience. Ambrose, despite having a microphone, refused to speak and answer Rollins' questions about why he threw away their friendship.

Rollins said that Ambrose spit on everything that The Shield stood for and that on a night when Reigns announced he had leukemia, The Lunatic Fringe made it all about himself. Rollins then approached Ambrose, who silently left.

Other moments from Raw included Finn Balor defeating Bobby Lashley via disqualification before Lashley was entered into the World Cup tournament at Crown Jewel in place of John Cena; Sasha Banks, Bayley, Natalya, Trish Stratus and Lita defeating The Riott Squad, Mickie James and Alicia Fox; Elias defeating Jinder Mahal; Bobby Roode and Chad Gable defeating AOP and The Ascension; Nia Jax defeating Ember Moon; The Lucha House Party defeating The Revival; Dolph Ziggler defeating Apollo Crews; Shawn Michaels delivering a Sweet Chin Music to The Undertaker; and the announcement that Raw Women's Champion Ronda Rousey will be taking on Smackdown Women's Champion Becky Lynch at Survivor Series on Nov. 18.
