June 29 (UPI) -- Jim Bellino and Alexis Bellino say they're remaining friendly amid their divorce.
The pair denied reports of "bad blood" in a joint statement Thursday to Entertainment Tonight after news of their split broke last week.
"It's important to us that you know we made this choice together, with love, and as the best decision for our children's future," the pair said. "We hold one another in the highest regard as spouses, and especially as parents."
"We have agreed on 50/50 custody of the children, and we ask that you respect our privacy by not theorizing about the reasons for our divorce," they added.
Jim and Alexis are parents to son James and twin daughters Mackenna and Melania. The former couple said there is "nothing provocative, alluring, or sordid" about their divorce, despite any rumors to the contrary.
"We strongly support each other just as we have the beginning of our relationship," they said. "Just like millions of other married people, we simply grew apart over time -- there is no ill will or bad blood between us."
Jim filed for divorce June 21 after 13 years of marriage, according to TMZ. Alexis has posted photos since from her trip to Montana with the kids.
"Montana bound baby!!!!!!!!" she captioned a picture at the airport.
Alexis is known for starring in Seasons 5 through 8 of The Real Housewives of Orange County.
