WWE Smackdown: Daniel Bryan, Kane reunite as Team Hell No

By Wade Sheridan

June 27 (UPI) -- Team Hell No, one of the most prominent tag teams in WWE history, reunited Tuesday on Smackdown Live when Kane returned to help out his former partner Daniel Bryan.

The reunion took place following Bryan's main event match against Harper, one half of The Bludgeon Brothers who last week ambushed The Yes Man during a Gauntlet Match to determine the No. 1 contender for AJ Styles' WWE Championship.

The Bludgeon Brothers, men of few words, failed to explain their actions as to why they attacked Bryan earlier on Smackdown during an interview with The Miz as part of Miz TV.

In the main event, Bryan proved once again that size didn't matter when he was able to catch the stronger and bigger Harper into his Yes Lock in the middle of the ring. It was then that Bludgeon Brother Rowan entered the ring and attacked Bryan, ending the match in a disqualification.

The Bludgeon Brothers, the Smackdown Tag Team Champions, punished Bryan before Kane made a surprise appearance. The Big Red Machine cleared the ring of The Bludgeon Brothers and then shared a stare down with Bryan.

Bryan and Kane, as the live audience chanted for the pair to hug as they normally did as Team Hell No, finally embraced each other among a chorus of approval. Smackdown general manager Paige then announced that Team Hell No would be facing The Bludgeon Brothers for their Smackdown Tag Team Championships at Extreme Rules on July 15.

Also on Smackdown, Jeff Hardy issued a United States Championship open challenge after it was announced that his previously announced opponent Shinsuke Nakamura would be unable to compete. New Smackdown trio SAnitY then entered the arena with member Eric Young agreeing to face Hardy for his title.

The match ended early, however, when The Usos arrived on the scene looking for revenge against SAnitY and started attacking Young's partners Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe who were stationed at ringside. A big brawl then broke out leading to the bout ending in a disqualification.

Paige declared that the match would be restarted as a Six-Man Tag Team Match, with Hardy teaming with The Usos to take on SAnitY. The Usos, in the closing moments of the battle, took out Dain with a number of Superkicks and a dive which allowed Hardy to nail Wolfe with a Swanton Bomb for the victory.

Other moments from Smackdown included Rusev defeating Xavier Woods of The New Day; Becky Lynch defeating Sonya Deville; and Paige announcing that Smackdown Women's Champion Carmella's side piece James Ellsworth would be facing her rival Asuka in a match next week; and the cast of Netflix's wrestling drama GLOW meeting Naomi and Lana backstage.

The cast of GLOW, led by star Alison Brie, suggested that Naomi and Lana, following their dance-off weeks ago, should stop feuding and start to work together as a team. Naomi and Lana eventually started to like the idea as everyone joined together for a "Feel the Glow" chant.
