Netflix orders third season of '13 Reasons Why'

June 6 (UPI) -- Netflix announced Wednesday it ordered a third season of its young-adult drama 13 Reasons Why.

Season 3, which will include 13 episodes, is expected to debut next year.

Series creator Brian Yorkey will return as showrunner. No casting has been announced.

The streaming service released a 30-second announcement video on YouTube showing an arm reaching into a Liberty High School locker and taking out a brown paper bag.

Written on the closed locker door is the number "3."

Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming online. The story began with how friends, family and acquaintances react to a teen girl's suicide. Appearing on the show have been Dylan Minnette, Katherine Langford, Christian Navarro, Alisha Boe, Brandon Flynn, Justin Prentice, Miles Heizer, Ross Butler, Devin Druid, Amy Hargreaves, Derek Luke, Kate Walsh and Brian d'Arcy James.
