WWE Smackdown: Bryan assaults Big Cass

By Wade Sheridan

May 16 (UPI) -- Daniel Bryan unleashed his anger on his rival Big Cass Tuesday on Smackdown after the seven-footer mentioned Bryan's wife, Brie Bella.

Bryan was confronted by Big Cass as he was having an interview with Renee Young where he discussed his loss to Rusev last week which prevents the Yes Man from entering into the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Big Cass then entered the arena and claimed responsibility for Bryan's loss due to injuring him at Backlash. Big Cass then took things too far when he stated that Bryan needed to leave the WWE.

"Go home, be a stay at home father and let Brie wear the pants in your family," Big Cass said before entering into the ring. Bryan then lost his composure and furiously attacked Big Cass, toppling the giant by focusing on his left knee.

Bryan would continue to assault Big Cass despite the arrival of referees and administered a Heel Hook which caused Big Cass to scream in pain.

In the main event, WWE Champion AJ Styles continued his war with Shinsuke Nakamura as the two Superstars met in a non-title match to decide which man can choose the stipulation for their upcoming title bout at Money in the Bank on June 17.

The hard-hitting showdown came to an end after Styles nearly clobbered the referee with a Phenomenal Forearm. Nakamura then pretended to be hit with a low blow amongst the commotion which caused the referee to question whether or not Styles had performed the illegal move.

The distraction allowed Nakamura to slam Styles and then strike him with a Kinshasa for the victory. The Artist can now choose which type of match he wants when he faces Styles again for the WWE Championship.

In the women's division, Smackdown Women's Champion Carmella held a Royal Mellabration due to Smackdown taking place in London.

Carmella, after having an extravagant entrance that included a town crier and royal guards, berated the crowd and declared herself better then every female wrestler in WWE.

Smackdown general manager Paige then entered the ring and announced that Carmella would be defending her title against Asuka at Money in the Bank. Carmella, upset, then left the ring as Asuka appeared on the scene.

Other moments from Smackdown included The New Day defeating The Bar so that one member can be entered into the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match; NXT's Andrade 'Cien' Almas making his main roster debut alongside his business manager Zelina Vega and defeating a local competitor; and Becky Lynch defeating Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville to be entered into the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
