'Logan' star Dafne Keen may join 'His Dark Materials' series

March 9 (UPI) -- Logan star Dafne Keen will reportedly join an eight-part His Dark Materials television series.

The young actress is in final talks to play Lyra in BBC One's adaptation of the Philip Pullman book series, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda is also nearing a deal to portray Lee Scoresby in the BBC One and Bad Wolf TV series. The King's Speech director Tom Hooper is in talks to helm all eight episodes of the show.

Deadline reported Hooper is working to reconcile his schedule so he can direct His Dark Materials and a live-action adaptation of the musical Cats. His Dark Materials will begin production in Wales soon, according to Radio Times.

His Dark Materials will span the series' three books: The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife and The Amber Spyglass. The Golden Compass was previously adapted as 2006 film starring Dakota Blue Richards, Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig.

BBC One ordered the adaptation in 2015. Sources told Deadline BBC Worldwide is shopping the show's U.S. and global rights to Netflix and Apple.

Keen is best known for playing X-23 in the Wolverine movie Logan starring Hugh Jackman.
