WWE Raw: Reigns, The Miz qualify for Elimination Chamber

By Wade Sheridan

Feb. 6 (UPI) -- More top WWE Superstars from Raw competed Monday for a chance to enter the Elimination Chamber match to determine who will face Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

The night was kicked-off by Roman Reigns taking on Bray Wyatt for a spot in the match in a hard-hitting bout that Wyatt remained in control of throughout. The Eater of Worlds seemingly had The Big Dog right where he wanted him when he planted Reigns with Sister Abigail, however, it was only good enough for a two count.

Wyatt, who couldn't believe Sister Abigail wasn't enough, set Reigns up again for a second serving of his finishing move before Reigns reversed it and delivered a Spear for the three count.

Wyatt's rival, Woken Matt Hardy, then appeared in the ring after the match and ambushed Wyatt by delivering a Twist of Fate,

The night's second Elimination Chamber qualifying match took place between Intercontinental Champion The Miz and Apollo Crews. The A-lister showed off his resiliency in the high-energy match when he kicked out at two after receiving back-to-back Standing Shooting Star Presses.

The Miz then won the match after he launched Crews groin-first onto the top rope followed by a Skull-Crushing finale. The Elimination Chamber match will now include Braun Strowman, John Cena, Elias, Reigns and The Miz, with one more spot left open.

Reigns would return later on in the night to assist his Shield brother Seth Rollins and act as a replacement for an injured Jason Jordan in facing Cesaro and Sheamus for the Raw Tag Team Championships. Rollins and Jordan lost the titles at the Royal Rumble due to Jordan injuring his head during the match.

Jordan, wanting to be helpful, appeared at ringside to cheer on his partner and then cornered off Sheamus and Cesaro as they attempted to leave in the middle of the match. The son of general manager Kurt Angle cost Rollins and Reigns the titles, however, when he punched both Sheamus and Cesaro by mistake to end the match in a disqualification.

Angle, just as frustrated as Rollins and Reigns, sent Jordan home and told his son to stay there until he was medically cleared to compete.
