Netflix renews 'The Punisher' for a second season

Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Netflix says it has renewed its comic-book adaptation, Marvel's The Punisher, for a second season.

The crime drama stars Jon Bernthal as the titular vigilante. The cast also features Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Deborah Ann Woll, Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah, Michael Nathanson, Jaime Ray Newman, Jason R. Moore, Daniel Webber and Paul Schulze.

"After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York's criminal underworld," a synopsis of the show said. "Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone."
