Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Production on the second season of HBO's Westworld and on CBS' reboot of S.W.A.T., have been halted due to the ongoing wildfires affecting Southern California. "Due to nearby wildfires, Westworld stopped production earlier today and will resume filming as soon as it's safe to do so," HBO said in a statement Tuesday.

"Production of @swatcbs has been suspended for the day due to wildfires and unsafe air near our stages," a Twitter account for the S.W.A.T. writers room posted.
"Safety of cast and crew come first. Prayers to all affected by these fires," it continued.

Westworld stars Evan Rachel Wood and Jeffrey Wright also shared their thoughts on the matter on social media.

"Meanwhile, at work today..." Wood said alongside of images depicting harsh weather conditions and a fire breathing dragon.
The Rye Fire has grown to 200 acres and has resulted in the 5 Freeway being closed which has impacted traffic on major roads.
Production on Westworld Season 2 was also suspended in November after an unidentified actor suffered from a medical emergency. The drama is set to return in Spring 2018.
S.W.A.T., which stars Shemar Moore, recently received a a full season order from CBS.
