Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Roman Reigns' open challenge for his Intercontinental Championship continued Monday on Raw as he was confronted by Jason Jordan.

Jordan, the son of general manager Kurt Angle, kicked the night off by challenging Reigns to a title match while The Big Dog expressed his interest in facing Samoa Joe instead after The Destroyer had attacked him from behind last week.

Reigns, while speaking with Joe who had entered the arena and stood in the entranceway, was then attacked from behind by Jordan as he fought for respect. Despite Angle getting in-between the pair, Reigns accepted Jordan's challenge.

Jordan put up a valiant effort against one of WWE's best, but eventually lost after Reigns began targeting his taped knee. The match was over once Reigns nailed Jordan with a Superman Punch followed by a Spear for the three count.

Joe then returned and attacked Reigns after the match before he was saved by Jordan. Reigns then delivered another Superman Punch to Jordan to stand in the ring alone.

In the main event, the other members of The Shield, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, took on Cesaro and Sheamus for the Raw Tag Team Championships.

A highly-competitive bout, Rollins and Ambrose had gained a victory after Sheamus got himself disqualified after he rushed over to attack The Architect without receiving a tag. The tactic was used to end the match and keep the championships around Cesaro and Sheamus as a title cannot change hands with a disqualification victory.

Angle then came to the ring and demanded that the match be restarted under No Disqualification rules in order to crown a true winner. The rule change led to Joe being able to enter the match and assist Cesaro and Sheamus despite Reigns' best efforts to stop him.

Sheamus then used the distraction to hit Ambrose with the Brogue Kick for the three count and to retain the Tag Team Championships.

Other moments from Raw included Paige defeating Sasha Banks; Drew Gulak defeating Cedric Alexander, Mustafa Ali and Tony Nese; Braun Strowman attacking Elias; Asuka defeating Alicia Fox; Finn Balor defeating Bo Dallas; and Matt Hardy unleashing his Broken personality to now become Woken Matt Hardy as he sentenced Bray Wyatt to "Deletion!"
