Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Tom Hopper, Emmy Raver-Lampman, David Castañeda, Robert Sheehan and Aidan Gallagher are to co-star with Ellen Page in Netflix's The Umbrella Academy.

The 10-episode sci-fi drama is to premiere in 2018.

Based on the comics and graphic novels of Gerard Way, the live-action series follows "the estranged members of a dysfunctional family of superheroes -- Luther, Diego, Allison, Vanya, Klaus and Number Five -- as they work together to solve their father Reginald Hardgraves' mysterious death, while coming apart at the seams due to their divergent personalities and abilities," a synopsis said.

Steve Blackman is to serve as executive producer and show-runner. Jeremy Slater penned the pilot script.
