'American Housewife' star Katy Mixon expecting second child

Nov. 30 (UPI) -- American Housewife star Katy Mixon is going to be a mom of two.

The 36-year-old actress announced on Wednesday's episode of Access Hollywood that she's pregnant and expecting a daughter with fiance Breaux Greer in May.

"I am pregnant with my second baby and it is a baby girl!" she said.

Mixon welcomed her first child, son Kingston Saint, with Greer six months ago, making her second pregnancy a shocking but welcome surprise.

"This happened just the quickest situation ever," the star recounted. "I found out because I was nursing and the breast milk dried up, and it happened to be the situation that I'm pregnant again.

"[I was] shocked. Couldn't be more shocked," she said. "Me and my fiance, we're welcoming it. She is due May 23rd."

Mixon's rep confirmed the news to Entertainment Tonight. The actress said on Access Hollywood that she isn't sure if American Housewife will write her pregnancy into the show.

Mixon plays Katie Otto on American Housewife, which airs Wednesdays on ABC. She is also known for portraying April Buchanon on Eastbound & Down and Victoria Flynn on Mike & Molly.
