Nov. 28 (UPI) -- New Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns defended his title for the first time Monday on Raw against Elias.

Elias, known for performing in front of WWE audiences with his guitar, was accompanied by The Miz's Miztourage, consisting of Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, who wanted revenge for Reigns previously defeating their leader for the title.

During the match, as Reigns became distracted by The Miztourage, Elias was able to attack The Big Dog and deliver a high-flying elbow drop that nearly won him the match.

Reigns would retain his title after delivering a Spear for the three count after Elias impressively countered an earlier Spear attempt into a knee to the face.

As Reigns celebrated with the Intercontinental Championship on the entranceway, he was suddenly attacked from behind by Samoa Joe who applied his patent submission maneuver the Coquina Clutch which left Reigns gasping for air and then later passed out.

In the main event of Raw, general manager Kurt Angle's son Jason Jordan took on Kane in an attempt to prove himself after he injured his knee last week against Braun Strowman. The match ended after Kane threw Jordan out of the ring which caused him to injure his knee.

Kane would continue to punish and attack Jordan however until Finn Balor came to the rescue which led to a match between the two competitors. Kane would end things in disqualification as The Big Red Machine struck Balor with a steel chair.

Kane's second post-match beatdown then led to the appearance of Strowman whom Kane had attacked last week. The Monster Among Men got his revenge against his rival by delivering a Running Powerslam onto a set of steel steps and then later by driving a chair into Kane's throat. Kane would then exit the arena through the crowd to avoid more punishment.

Other moments from Raw included Seth Rollins defeating Raw Tag Team Champion Cesaro; Joe defeating Titus O' Neil; Bray Wyatt defeating Matt Hardy; Rich Swann defeating Akira Tozawa, Noam Dar and Ariya Daivari; Asuka defeating Dana Brooke; and Paige, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville attacking Sasha Banks who declined to join their crew now known as Absolution.
