'Jersey Shore' cast to reunite for new series in 2018

Nov. 27 (UPI) -- MTV announced Monday night it will reunite the Jersey Shore cast for a new series titled Jersey Shore Family Reunion.

The announcement was made during the airing of MTV's Floribama Shore series.

"I'm so excited to announce we are coming back for another season!!!!! I can not wait to live with all my besties again," tweeted Deena Nicole Cortese, a former cast member of the Jersey Shore.

Details on the new show have not been released, including where it will be filmed. But it is expected to be released sometime next year.

According to Variety, Jersey Shore Family Reunion will be produced by 495 Productions, which is headed by SallyAnn Salsano, the original creator of the Jersey Shore.

Jersey Shore aired for six seasons on MTV between 2009 and 2012 and is considered one of the network's highest-rated shows.
