Dove Cameron lands role on 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'

Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Actress Dove Cameron is joining the ensemble of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC.

Marvel confirmed Cameron's casting on its website, but said more details about her part would be revealed "at a later date."

The actress also appeared in a brief video announcement on Twitter, alongside Clark Gregg, who plays Agent Phil Coulson on S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 5 is to debut Friday.

Cameron, 21, is known for playing the title characters on the sitcom Liv and Maddie, and Mal, daughter of Maleficent, on Disney Channel's The Descendants. She also voiced the character of Spider-Gwen on the animated series Marvel's Ultimate Spider-Man vs. The Sinister Six on Disney XD.
