Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and a host of celebrities brought a childhood comic book created by Jimmy Kimmel to life Monday in honor of the late night host's 50th birthday.

Affleck, who was on hand to promote his latest turn as Batman in Justice League on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, brought out filmmaker J.J. Abrams who announced that he had directed a film based on a comic book Kimmel made at a young age titled The Terrific Ten.

"The characters they really spoke to me," Abrams joked about why he adapted the comic book. "They demanded to be brought to life."

A trailer for the film was presented which featured Affleck as Muscle Man, Billy Crudup as Color Kid, Zach Galifianakis as Super Duck, Shaquille O'Neal as Spire, Ty Burrell as Mirgiv, Will Arnett as Meinstrom, Jason Bateman as Bendolite, Jon Hamm as Lucky Lad, Jennifer Aniston as Laser Lass and Matt Damon as the evil Dr. Bolt and his partner The Bleach Master played by Wanda Sykes.

During the comedic team's confrontation with Damon, the star-studded cast realize their superhero shortcomings are due to being invented by Kimmel as a child.

"We were created by a weird, sad kid. Who grew to later become a weird, fat man," Damon says while poking fun at Kimmel as part of the pair's long-running feud on the late night show.

Kimmel's 50th birthday celebration also included a special version of Mean Tweets that only included comments from fans criticizing the comedian as read by celebrities that included Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lawrence, David Letterman, Michael Keaton, Chris Hemsworth, Amy Schumer, Stephen Colbert, Kristin Bell and many more.

"I thought I saw Jimmy Kimmel @ Home Depot. Turns out it was just a sloppy dude with big dimples," Keaton read. "Jimmy Kimmel you still look like a potato. Now you're just a hairy potato. So you're extra gross," shared Schumer.
