Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Team Smackdown continued to form their mens Survivor Series squad Tuesday on Smackdown Live as they added three new members to team blue.

In the main event, Shinsuke Nakamura battled Kevin Owens for a spot on the team that will take on Raw's five man group at Survivor Series as WWE's two flagship shows fight for brand supremacy.

A competitive bout, Nakamura was ready to deliver his signature finishing move the Kinshasa when Owens' so-called guardian angel Sami Zayn came to rescue his best friend out of harms way.

After still being unable to defeat The Rockstar following a high-flying Frog Splash, Owens instructed Zayn to get the announcers table ready to put Nakamura through when suddenly Randy Orton appeared to even odds.

The Viper then suplexed Zayn onto the table instead which gave Nakamura the opening to strike Owens with the Kinshasa for the three count.

Also on Smackdown Live, commissioner Shane McMahon opened the show to comment on his sister Stephanie's return and general manager Daniel Bryan's attack Monday on Raw while he attempted to extend an olive branch to team red captain Kurt Angle.

McMahon vowed that Raw would no longer be deemed the crown jewel of WWE and that Smackdown was fighting for respect. "The best way to make a statement was to go to Raw and kick em' right in the mouth," he said of how he led the Smackdown roster to attack and decimate the Raw locker room weeks ago.

McMahon then announced that he would become the captain of team Smackdown at Survivor Series making the blue brand's mens team consist of the commissioner, Orton, Nakamura and Bobby Roode who go on to defeat Dolph Ziggler for a spot on the squad in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match.

Other moments from Smackdown Live included United States Champion Baron Corbin defeating Sin Cara via disqualification; Rusev defeating Big E; and AJ Styles defeating Samir Singh of The Singh Brothers before he was ambushed and brutally attacked by WWE Champion Jinder Mahal who delivered two Khallas' to The Phenomenal One.
