"What drama?" Chmerkovskiy said, according to Us Weekly. "[Things] were never bad. They were great things. It's been a great season."

"It's a tough show," he confessed. "Everybody's going through a little bit of a menial lifetime through this whole process, and when you're good enough to make it all the way, you go through that much more stuff. We're a great couple. We're doing our best."

Lachey also downplayed her rumored conflict with Chmerkovskiy while attending the Baby Ball Gala the same day.

"It's a pebble in the pond," the 36-year-old television personality told Us Weekly. "Everything is great. And honestly, I kind of giggle at it!"

People reported "a big chemistry issue" between Chmerkovskiy and Lachey after the dancer skipped the Oct. 2 episode due to a "personal issue," but was later seen at dinner with his family. Chmerkovskiy subsequently apologized to Lachey.
